Week of February 18, 2008

"Go for the Gold" is moving ahead. We have our first GOLD medal winner. Congratualtions Albert Eberhard. Students have read a total of 165 books with 49 bronze medals, 9 silver medals and 1 gold medal. Mrs. Cook's class leads with 21 bronze and 5 silver medals. Second place is Mrs. Burke's class with 10 bronze and 1 silver medal. Many could still see Gold medals. Keep Reading.

Monday, February 18 we welcome Congressman Fred Upton as a guest speaker at Milwood Magnet. He will be in the library with Mrs. Washington's 4th hour class at 10:30. Mr. Hopewell and Mr. Walker's classes are also scheduled in the library for book exchange.

Tuesday, February 19 Mrs. Cook's classes are scheduled to enjoy reading in the library and Mrs. Rocco's class is scheduled for book exchange.

Wednesday, February 20 Mrs. Gougeon's classes are scheduled for book exchange and Mrs. Kahler's 4th hour class is scheduled for Science Fair research.

Thursday, February 21 Mrs. Cassar's classes are scheduled for book exchange.

Friday, February 22 Mrs. Frazier's classes are scheduled for book exchange.

Week of February 11, 2008

We are 3 weeks into "Go for the GOLD" Reading Challenge. The school has 37 Bronze medals and 5 Silver medals. Student have read 110 books. Hopefully, with the snowy days, students are reading and we can increase the number of medals and total books read. The top 3 classes are: Cook - 16 Bronze medals, 1 Silver medal. Class has read 36 books.
Burke - 8 Bronze medals. Class has read 22 books.
Cassar - 3 Bronze medals. 3 Silver medals. Class has read 21 books.

This week in the library, Monday, February 11 - Mrs. Kendall has the library scheduled first hour for a guest speaker. Mrs. Frazier is scheduled for Book exchange. Mrs. Buchholz's classes will continue research in the library.

Tuesday, February 12 - Mrs. Frazier's Connections class and Mrs. Buchholz's classes are scheduled in the library for book exchange.

Wednesday, February 13 - Mrs. Cook's classes are scheduled for book exchange.

Thursday, February 14 - Happy Valentine's Day. No scheduled classes. Library is open for small group usage.

Friday, February 15 - Mrs. Burke's classes are scheduled for book exchange.

Week of February 4, 2008

We continue to work on "Go for the Gold" Reading Challenge. Several have read books to qualify for Bronze medals. Number of medals for each class will be announced on the morning announcements. Keep READING! Bronze can turn into silver and silver into GOLD.

Monday, February 4 Mr. Hopewell's classes and Mr. Walker's classes are scheduled for book exchange.

Tuesday, February 5 Mrs. Cook's classes will be using the library for silent reading and Mrs. Rocco's class is scheduled for book exchange.

Wednesday, February 6 Mrs. Gougeon's classes are scheduled for book exchange.

Thursday, February 7 Mrs. Cassar's classes are scheduled for book exchange.

Friday, February 8, there is No School for students. This will again move Mrs. Frazier's classes to Monday, February 11 for book exchange.
